Description: Mauser Luger Code 42. Date 1939 on the barrel. Includes holster, take down tool, bring back paper and book all from the original estate. 9mm caliber. Original blue finish. Mechanically very good. Very good bore. 4” barrel. Barrel serial number is light, but matches. Good walnut grips. Serial number: 4584. Correct proof marks. Right side has two eagle/63 proofs and eagle military acceptance stamp. Acceptance stamp on right side of barrel The magazine is period correct, but the number does not match. Holster- Original leather holster includes take down tool.is dated 1939 and in good shape except that the holster cover has separated. Holster is labeled Hans Deuter 1939 Augsburg with eagle/WaA136 proof. Book - The Fighting 36th. A pictorial history. The Texas D Division in Combat. Note: the book is in very good shape except for a broken binder due to age. Book comes with two maps that show the paths of the Fighting 36 in Europe. Quote from the book: “About the book...This is primarily a book of pictures, intended to convey to each of the fifty thousand wearers of the T-Patch, their relatives and friends, a first-hand recollection of the battles we’ve fought and the places we’ve been”. Another quote from the book regarding Field Marshal Albert Kesselring's response to the question "what do you consider the finest Americal Division to have opposed you?"
