Description: Fine Collectible 1970s H&K P7 9MM Auto Pistol Offered here for sale and just acquired among a number of recent collections is this excellent classic early H&K P7 9MM auto pistol. The Heckler & Koch P7 was a unique and highly regarded 9mm semi-automatic pistol, first introduced in the late 1970s. It was designed for law enforcement, military, and civilian use, and it remains popular among collectors and shooting enthusiasts. One of the most distinctive features of the P7 is its squeeze-cocking system. The front strap of the grip acts as a cocking lever. Once cocked the pistol remains ready to fire as long as the grip is held. Releasing the grip automatically decocks the pistol, making it one of the safest handguns ever made.Unlike most 9mm pistols that use a locked-breech system, the P7 uses a gas-delayed blowback system.As the bullet travels down the barrel, gas is diverted into a small cylinder below the barrel. This pressure slows the rearward movement of the slide, reducing felt recoil and improving accuracy. The P7 has a low bore axis, reducing muzzle flip and improving control. It is relatively slim and compact, making it well-suited for concealed carry. Made with all-metal components, it is built to a high standard of precision.
