Extraordinarily Rare Celmi Model 1943 (Walther PP Copy), 173, PCA-122
Description:
Manufactured in Uruguay during WWII by the Italian Celmi brothers, this incredibly rare semiautomatic was in limited production for only a few years. Although a few were reportedly bought by the Uruguayan State Oil Company for their security teams, few survived. This example is a single action blowback-operated pistol patterned after the Walther PP with an FN1910-type extended barrel bushing. Fixed front sight and drift adjustable rear sight. "T-AUT CELMI - CAL.7.65 - PAT. No 3537, MONTEVIDEO URUGUAY" on the left side of the slide. Partially serrated trigger, serrated ring hammer, checkered grips, and 'Beretta-type" magazine with curved finger extension. Striking plum colored frame and barrel bushing, the balance of the pistol finished in a uniform blue, the sides of the hammer polished bright along with the barrel hood. An extraordinary find for any collector of rare semiautomatic pistols or South American arms. Synopsis: Extraordinarily rare and giant sized Celmi Model 1943 (Walther PP Copy), likely the only one in the United States, and prominently featured in a full length video on Forgotten Weapons. Condition: VG-Excellent original finish with a wear pattern as one might expect from a service arm. The grips are in comparable condition with staining and handling marks. Bright bore. Perfect manual mechanics.
