Scarce French M.A.C., 1950, B4940, FB01033
Description: Synopsis: Scarce French M.A.C., 1950, B4940, FB01033 Description: Standard configuration Model 1950, 9mmP, as made by Manufacture d'armes de Châtellerault (MAC) whose production began in 1953 and continued to 1963 before being transferred to MAS. This particular gun, in the 'B block', was numbered 4940. Influenced by the 1935 S, the pistol is larger and has a longer grip frame for a 9 shot in-line magazine. The left side of the slide is marked with the initials 'MAC.' The right side of the slide references the model and caliber. Serial number on the right side of the frame. As typical for many military pistols of this era, it is a single action, locked breech gun with a swinging link and easily detachable hammer group. Fixed front sight and notched rear sight with top mounted extractor. Fitted with black Bakelite grips with horizontal serrations. Parkerized magazine with 8 indicator holes and a detachable floorplate marked 1950. Condition: VG with original parkerizing, the slide mottled with etching as photographed, in places one might expect from a service pistol having moderate use. Comparable condition grips, with scattered handling marks, but no cracks. Bright bore, slight etching, easily discernible rifling. Perfect manual mechanics. A classic French military pistol made in large quantity over approximately 20 years by 2 manufacturers, but seldom available for sale in the United States. ~~Insured shipping fee of $55; most packages shipped using FedEx 2nd Day.~~ Price: $1,995.00 Curio/Relic: Yes Manufacturer: M.A.C.
