Bufalo Vest Pistol, Gold Damascene, 6.35mm, #31307, PCA-182

Description:
A small, vest pocket sized Eibar-style pistol as made by a host of Spanish companies. Although Gabilondo y Cia made the largest quantity, this gold damascened example, with about 30-40% coverage, was manufactured by Beristain y Cia who trademarked the Bufalo logo in 1920. The legend on the left side of the pistol references its manufacturer in Spain and the patent numbers of the ‘Bufalo’ trademark. Below and repeated on the frame are fake Belgian proofs. The caliber as marked on the exposed barrel hood. ‘Made in Spain’ applied to guns made for export. The full serial number is on the right side of frame. Fully matching with "179" assembly number inside the slide, on barrel lug, hold open latch, and right side of frame under grip. Mother of pearl grips, each panel secured with a single screw. Bottom magazine release. Unmarked magazine with five indicator holes. Synopsis: Attractive, gold damascened Spanish pistol made by Beristain y Cia in the 1920s. Condition: Good condition, retaining nearly all of its original damascening. Most of the original blue having faded to a toned gray, remnants of original blue in protected areas. Same or better condition grips, the right panel chipped around the screw. Bright bore with etching, easily discernable rifling. Perfect manual mechanics.
