The FNX-45 Tactical is a development of the original FNP-45 Tactical which was developed for the U.S. Joint Combat Pistol Program. The FNX-45T was intended to improve on its predecessor and create a combat pistol capable of functioning even in the worst battlefield conditions. It offers a combination of desirable features not found in most pistols. A good starting point is the capacity of the magazine. The FNX-45T holds fifteen rounds in the magazine. This is wo more rounds than even the famous Para-Ordnance P14-45 can hold (13+1, hence the “14” in the designation). The magazines have a polished body, and a polymer base designed to handle a dive to the prone position before rolling to the target. The polymer frame comes with additional optional back straps and is built with a low-bore axis for reducing felt recoil. The controls are all ambidextrous allowing for a quick switch between hands in stressful situations. The front of the frame has the usual mil-standard 1913 accessory rail for mounting a flashlight, laser, or combo. The 5.3-inch barrel is cold-hammer forged stainless steel and features both a polished feed ramp and polished chamber to ensure proper feeding at all times.
