WW2 U.S. PROPERTY AAF M8 OR AN-M8 37MM FLARE, SIGNAL OR PYROTECHNIC PISTOL FOR AIRCRAFT. "M.S.W.C." in triangle on right side. Serial number on bakelite backstrap. Original parkerized finish overall. Original bakelite grips. Unturned screws. Outer lugs on barrel for affixing to exterior aircraft port for signaling ground crews or other aircraft. Rear lever for opening tip down barrel to load and forward lever for releasing from port. Perfect working order.
