WW2 German Occupation Nazi FN Browning Hi Power 9mm Pistol
** Attractive Old Refinish ** SOLD
Description: This is a WW2 German-occupation FN Browning Hi Power 9mm pistol. This Hi Power is all-matching and original but has been reblued at some point along the way, likely more than 20 years ago. The FN HI Power pistol was one of the finest 9mm pistols of the time and remains one of the all-time classics. The double stack 14-round magazine gave it a significant advantage over other combat handguns of the period, and the fine build quality and accuracy of the Hi Power was second to none. When the German Army invaded Belgium during WW2 they took over the FN factory and continued to produce arms there for their own military. The Hi Power was called the Pistole 640(b) by the German Military and saw combat with all of the German Military branches as well as the S.S. The FN Hi Power was a sought-after war trophy with our troops, nearly as popular as the Luger. The vast majority of the Nazi-marked Hi Powers you see in the U.S. today were brought here by U.S. soldiers as war trophies after the war. This particular example is serial number "827a" and is a very attractive gun. It is an older re-blue, however they did not buff or polish the gun much before refinishing it, leaving all of the FN factory stamps and Nazi Waffenamts clear and legible. All of the numbered parts are matching on this gun including the frame, barrel, and slide. As you can see from the pictures, the glossy dark blue finish is in good condition overall, showing only some scattered handling marks and spots of surface rust that have been removed. There are no eyesores or bad spots on the gun that take away from it's good looks, and the finish is consistent on all of the metal parts. The bore in this Hi Power is in average condition, it still shows nice strong rifling throughout the barrel, but does have some light pitting mainly in the grooves. It should still be very accurate as a shooter. The original checkered Walnut grips are in good condition, free from any cracks, chips, major damage, or repairs. The checkering shows light wear but is still nicely defined. Both grips are nicely fit to the gun and tight to the grip frame with no wiggle. All of the controls on this Hi Power are 100% functional, and the slide to frame fit is excellent. The action is smooth and slick when worked by hand, and the slide and barrel locks into battery perfectly. We have no doubt that this HI Power will shoot just as reliably and accurately as the day it left the factory in the 1940's. It comes complete with one original factory magazine in good condition with a nice strong follower and perfect feed lips. If you have been looking for an affordable original WW2 Nazi-marked Hi Power that you can enjoy as both a piece of history and as a shooter, this is it!
