A Very Early Pair Of Rare Pre Civil War " DERINGER PHILADELPHIA" Marked Deringers With Gold Mounted Escutcheons And Bands In Their Original Period Case With Accessories All In Fine Untouched Condition. All original throughout. The deringers have fine metal, markings, and engraving throughout. They are both marked "DERINGER PHILDELA" on the locks & top of the barrels. The locks, hammers, & trigger guard are all finely engraved and have an untouched patina with the barrels showing a mix of patina & lots of original brown finish on them. The pistols are gold banded on top of the barrels. All of the escutcheons, furniture, and trigger guards on the deringers are also gold mounted as shown in the photos. The original finely checkered wood on both of them are in excellent condition. They have a wonderful burl to them. Both pistols have nice actions and bores in them.
The original period case is fine plus throughout. It has an excellent royal green interior lining. The outer shell of the box is also fine plus throughout and shows no warping on the lid. The original accessories include an excellent condition powder flask which retains all of its original lacquer finish on it. It also has ita original bullet mold, nipple wrench, oiler, and wood & brass bullet plunger.
