Deutsche Werke Ortgies .32 ACP 7.65mm 1920s Excellent condition. Rare.
Description: For Sale Deutsche Werke Ortgies .32 ACP 7.65mm Semi Automatic Pistol, 1920s in excellent condition. The Ortgies pistol was produced in 6.35 mm, 7.65 mm, and 9 mm variants. The hammerless action depended on a spring-loaded striker to fire the cartridge. Unusual design features included the safety - lever inset into the back of the grip and, with the gun cocked, forced backward out of the grip into the "safe" position by spring tension from the firing pin upon depression of a button under the slide. To disengage the safety, a shooter simply would squeeze the grip, pressing the lever forward and locking it flush with the back of the pistol. The Ortgies pistol was only made between 1919 and 1924 by Deutsche Werke – production being forced to stop due to the Treaty of Versailles. It makes it very rare and desirable for collectors. The example is in excellent condition: metal finish about 98%, bore is shiny with strong rifling, about 97%, wood grips about 98% with no cracks or chips. Will make great addition to any collection.
