COLT, M-1849, Cased, NAMED, ANTIQUE, c. 1858, Exc. Condition 

Description:
                 This 166-year-old Colt percussion revolver remains in excellent condition. The roll engraved cylinder scene is exceptional, very strong and legible. The half cock pins are all in place and the cylinder bore is smooth and clean. The bore is strong and bright with only several spots of storage corrosion. Overall, it appears to be little used. The barrel and frame markings are strong and legible. The blued and case hardened parts have turned brown but there is no pitting or corrosion anywhere. The trigger guard and backstrap retain most of the original silver plating that has been polished bright some time past. All parts but the wedge have matching serial numbers. Most interesting is the engraved name on the heel of the backstrap. “JAS. MERCER” is the name, limited research has uncovered no background information.
          The revolver is presented in the original restored case with two empty English percussion cap tins and a Colt bullet mold. The Colt early mold is clearly marked and shows a single ring on the conical bullet.

Photographs:
          It is easy to describe a NEW gun with pictures. Two blurry, poorly lit photos along with the description would suffice. Antique and Collectable firearms are rarely “new” condition. I make every effort to show the flaws in clear detail so that there are no “surprises”.
Remember that a beautiful woman in a dark room at 10-foot distance may look different close up in the sunlight with scars, wrinkles, and warts.
Notice:
ALL Federal, State, & Local firearms laws will be followed.  I will take NO shortcuts in the process of a legal sale or transfer, so please don’t ask.

Shipments are made via U.S.P.S. Priority Mail, Insured, with a return receipt. Packing, Shipping and Insurance cost for this handgun is $40.00.

RETURNS:
Returns must be made within 3 days of receipt. They must be received in exactly the same condition with no parts exchanged.  If it has been altered, damaged, or fired, a refund will not be made.  Packing, shipping and insurance cost will not be refunded.  All layaway purchases are returnable for merchandise credit only.
 PAYMENT: 
Bank check, Personal check, and Money Orders are preferred. Visa and MasterCard are accepted with a 4% processing fee.
 LAYAWAYS: 
A 20% deposit is required.  Balance is due in 30 days. Deposits are non-refundable and are forfeited after 40 days.  Layaway sales are returnable for merchandise credit only.
SALES TAX: 
Pennsylvania state sales tax is 6% for in state purchases. The payment of other states sales tax, if applicable, for shipped items is the buyer’s responsibility.
