Colt 1911, .45 ACP
Description: COLT 1911, .45 ACP, 5" barrel, manufactured and issued to the United States Army in 1918 near the end of WWI. This pistol has not been rebuilt...no armory stamps on the right side plus it has an acceptance stamp on the left side behind the trigger. (eagle over S14). The finish is 100% original with slight patena you can see in the pictures. The bore is bright and glossy, the grips are diamond checkered walnut and in perfect condition. The two-tone steel magazine is supposedly original and there is a "H" stamp above the firing pin retainer and a small "P" on top of the barrel. This piece of WWI history is extremely clean throughout and has obviously been used but never abused. This would make a nice addition to any Colt collection...good for another 106 years!
