Colt 1911 World War 1 w/ 3 magazines and extras
Description: Sadly, unforeseen circumstances force me to sell my Colt Model of 1911 U.S. Army Pistol. Asking $2500.00 shipped to your FFL (C&R OK). Most gun enthusiasts and/or history buffs know about this infamous pistol. Adopted by the U.S. government in 1911, it was used in World War 1, World War 2, Korea, Vietnam, and numerous formal an informal conflicts throughout the world. If "classic" were ever used to describe a gun, it would justify describe the Colt 1911. This pistol that is being sold was made in 1918 during the First World War. It is marked “UNITED STATES PROPERTY” on the left side of the frame. The right side of the slide is marked “MODEL OF 1911 U.S. ARMY”. The left side of the slide is marked “PATENTED APR. 20, 1897. SEPT. 9, 1902/DEC.19, 1905. FEB.14, 1911. AUG.19, 1913” with a rampant colt in the middle, then “COLT’S PT. F.A. MFG. CO./HARTFORD, CT. U.S.A.” The overall condition is very good. It retains some of the original finish. The bore is bright with good rifling and slight frosting. It has the original wood grips with sharp checkering. The markings on this pistol are sharp & clear. The barrel is properly marked. Per the Springfield Research Service, the serial number is 1 digit away from a 1911 that was issued to the USMC and was used in Nicaragua in the 1930s! I cannot state that this one was also a USMC pistol, but being 1 digit away it surey could have been. Please see the pictures for the best description and condition of this pistol. (NOTE: HOLSTER HAS BEEN SOLD SEPARATELY AND IS NOT INCLUDED IN THE SALE OF THIS ITEM) The pistol comes with 3 correct magazines, a correct WW1 magazine pouch, and a detailed book in the 1911 pistol. (NOTE: HOLSTER HAS BEEN SOLD SEPARATELY AND IS NOT INCLUDED IN THE SALE OF THIS ITEM) Must ship to FFL (C&R OK) and much accept from C&R FFL holder). I can take additional pictures if needed. Note I am not an expert and have described this pistol to the best of my ability. SOLD Curio/Relic: Yes Handgun Caliber: .45 ACP (.45 Auto) |
