ESSEX ARMS Model 1911A1 .45 ACP Pistol w/ COLT NATIONAL MATCH Slide
Modern Example of the Iconic COLT M1911 ARMY Pistol
Description: ESSEX ARMS Model 1911A1 .45 ACP Pistol w/ COLT NATIONAL MATCH Slide Modern Example of the Iconic COLT M1911 ARMY Pistol Here we present a Essex Arms Model 1911A1 Semi-Automatic Pistol, with the frame manufactured circa the mid-1970s in Island Pond, Vermont. Essex Arms was a maker of cast frames and slides. Essex never made complete firearms, only parts that were assembled primarily by gunsmiths. This example has the Essex frame and a Colt National Match slide. John Moses Browning’s famous pistol, the Colt Model 1911, was adopted by the U.S. government in 1911 and attained iconic status throughout both World Wars, Korea, Vietnam and beyond. This one was made in the middle of World War II. The Model 1911 series of pistols is one of the most successful small arms designs of the 20th century, and in all of modern warfare history, for that matter. The handgun has been produced in quantity in the United States, Argentina, and Norway (the latter two under license production as the M1914 and the M1927 respectively) and was fielded in both World Wars and many of the major and minor conflicts of the century, eventually becoming a commercial success. The Model 1911 continues service in many forms today and is still a favorite among sporting, security, and casual gun lovers all over the world. The overall condition is near fine. Excellent action. Bright bore with strong rifling. Both grips are in fine shape with sharp checkering. Clear markings. Triangle rear sight. This firearm is classified as Modern. Barrel is 5 inches. Caliber: .45 ACP Overall condition as seen in photos. Very Fast. Very Safe. FREE SHIPPING. Will need to be sent to your local FFL or C&R licensee. ancestryguns $1885 #215555 SOLD Curio/Relic: Yes |
