1969 Colt Gold Cup National Match 1911 .45 ACP w/ Original Box, Test Target, Manual, Etc.
SALE PENDING
Description: For sale, a beautiful pre-70 Series Colt Gold Cup National Match 1911 that comes complete with the original factory box, owner's manual, plastic shipping bag, warranty card, and a 1969 dated test target. This National Match 1911 is serial number 32613NM, and it was manufactured in 1969. It is in excellent overall condition, with the factory high polish blue finish rating 97-98% on all the metal parts. There are a few small handling/storage marks and one very small spot on the left side of the slide below the words "National Match" where there is evidence of rust, but despite this the pistol has a minty overall appearance. This is because it is very apparent that this National Match has spent the majority of it's life in storage rather than at the range or in the field being carried and shot. The bore in this pistol is perfect, with strong rifling and no pitting or erosion. The checkered walnut grips with gold Colt medallions are also in great shape, except for a small crack forming at the rear of the right grip panel relief cut for the mainspring housing pin. I took a close up picture of this area so you can see for yourself. It is only noticeable under very close observation and could be repaired easily if one so chooses. The checkering on these grips is still clean and sharp, they show none of the oil staining or wear you would see on a pistol that has been used/carried even a moderate amount. These pre-70 Series Colt National Match 1911's from this time period really showed what a fine pistol Colt was capable of manufacturing. The slide is tight to the frame but still works smoothly with no slop. All of the small parts are perfectly fit and finished on this pistol. The trigger has an adjustable travel stop and breaks like glass. This model came from the factory with Elliason adjustable target sights and the adjustments all work perfectly on this example. Everything on this Gold Cup National Match works 100% like it did when it left the Colt factory in 1969 and as you can see from the factory test target, it is an extremely accurate pistol. The original box for this pistol is in good condition overall with some mold stains on the lid. All four corners of the bottom half of the box are perfect, and 3 out of 4 of the top half's corners are perfect as well. As you can see in the pictures the cardboard insert that is cut out to hold the pistol is still nice and bright and in excellent shape. All of the paperwork and the clear plastic shipping bag are in excellent shape. These National Match pistols are a great investment and continue to appreciate in value every year. You would be hard pressed to find an example in better condition or more complete than this one!!
