Very Early Colt 1911 Commercial (1914), Government 45 auto RARE!
Description: ***SOLD*** For he serious collector!!! Beautiful Very Early, Colt 1911 Commercial, Government Model 45 auto. This is a second year production, made in 1914, with ONLY 4 digit serial number (C9736). WWI started on July 28, 1914, base on the style of rear sight (rounded), this pistol was made in the early months of 1914, making it a pre-WWI example of a commercial pistol! It comes with letter from Colt, saying it was shipped on October 8, 1914 to A. Baldwin & Company, New Orleans, Louisiana! It features the original dark blue of the time. The finish is fantastic for a 109 year old gun. Most of the finish wear is on the right side of the slide (probably the way it was storaged), and a little on trigger guard (please see pics). Correct slide featuring the early style of rear sight (round), colt used until mid-1914. The frame has the "VP" Verified Proof mark on trigger guard. Also the correct assembler and inspector "y" (assembler: Alex Liljegren, 1914) is marked on left bottom area of trigger guard and receiver by disconnector hole. Both slide and frame are marked with "S" (under firing pin plate, and by disconnector hole). The barrel hood is correctly left unfinished, and is marked with a "P" and "N" informs of barrel lug. Bore shows a little frosting, as expected on a gun this old! The correct Colt stocks, featuring 15 rows between the diamonds are excellent. All original small parts (long trigger, 1914 style safety lock, short hammer, etc). It has the correct slide stop with plunger groove (used C5000 to CC111000). Also, has the correct, very rare, type 2 colt two-tone magazine with the lanyard loop! Fully functional! The action is crisp, and it operates as it should! Overall, a high grade example of a very early Colt Commercial 1911... These are hard to come by like this one! Don't miss out! Cashier checks and money orders, same as cash! Personal checks will be held until funds clear (3-5 business days). Shipping insured will be $85 to Continental US only (AK & HI extra). No California sales! Please ask us any questions! SOLD Handgun Caliber: .45 ACP (.45 Auto) |
