Amazing Early WWII (1943) Colt 1911A1 US Property 45 auto, ALL ORIGINAL!!!
Description: ***SOLD*** Extremely Nice WWII Colt 1911A1, 45 auto, US Property! Again, in Fantastic High Condition! We would call it 98% easily! This pistol was shipped to Transportation Officer, Springfield Armory in July of 1943, and based on our thourough inspection, it remains in all original condition! (We completely disassemble these firearms head-to-toe, and we go through them piece by piece, so we can answer any questions you may have!) It features the "G.H.D" inspector mark of Brig. General Guy H. Dreary. Correct "P" marked on frame, slide, and Barrel. The original Parkerized finish is superb for a pistol produced in the heat of WWII! The slide has the matching serial number (1090032) behind the firing pin stop plate. The ghost number is clearly visible on the back of firing pin stop as well! The barrel is correctly marked "COLT 45 AUTO" and a "P" on the left side of lug, and a "F" on bottom. The condition of the bore is magnificent, we would call it a 9 out of 10 (see picture)! Correct checkered slide stop, trigger, magazine housing, and hammer. "Crossed Cannons" marked on left side of receiver. All markings are sharp, with no signs of buffing or refinishing! Appropriate Verified Proof "VP" marked on left area of trigger guard! The correct Coltwood plastic grips, with strengthening ribs, wide rings and mold numbers are in great condition, with no cracks nor chips. Also has a correct WWII magazine marked with an "S", made by Scovill and used by Colt, thus it is also marked "C-S" on bottom of it! The action is crisp, and fully functional! The bullet ramp is correctly left bright unfinished! Interesting historical fact on duplicate serial number: Colt manufactured 60,000 pistols in Ithaca serial range, 41,696 in the Remington Rand serial range, and 4,171 in the US&S serial range (1088726-1092896). This pistol is one of those in the serial number range also assigned to US&S! This is a great example of a genuine high condition ALL Original WWII Colt 1911A1 that would make a great addition to anybody's collection! Cashier checks and money orders ,same as cash. Personal checks will be held until funds clear (3-5 business days). Shipping insured will be $75 to Continental US only (AK & HI extra). No sales to California!
