A working , but seen much service with slight pitting on the lock plate but Tower 1851 and VR are seen . Action is very strong, and measures about 15 1/2" long with a heavy 8 1/2" round barrel. Ccomes with a captured ram-rod, and the hardwood stock may have ebeen refinshed in the past. The .58 cal smooth bore is clean but has patches of fine pits from shooting balck powder. Front sight has been replaced with a copper stud. Overall a , salty but colorful 19th century military percussion pistol that oftyen made it's way to this country before or during the Civil War.
