Its various models are becoming increasingly popular as more and more people try out this excellent pistol. The Mete (pronounced Met-Ay) is one of the newest iterations, the one shown here being a special cerakoted version of the SFT or standard model. The new Mete SFT combines features from both the TP9 SF Elite and TP9 SFx models and is geared towards fulfilling the same rolls that the standard TP9 SF does with the notable benefit of being optic ready. The short-reset trigger has a light, crisp pull out of the box thanks to its nickel-coated action components. The Mete SFT features a match-grade 4.46-inch-long barrel, a low-profile ambidextrous slide stop, and 3-dot white sights. The grip features an integral flared-mag-well although the larger Speed flared adaptor which fits over the original mag-well flare is included in the box. The Canik TP9 is one of the recent and newly popular pistols to be imported to the American market. Its various models are becoming increasingly popular as more and more people try out this excellent pistol. The Mete (pronounced Met-Ay) is one of the newest iterations, the one shown here being a special cerakoted version of the SFT or standard model. The new Mete SFT combines features from both the TP9 SF Elite and TP9 SFx models and is geared towards fulfilling the same rolls that the standard TP9 SF does with the notable benefit of being optic ready. The short-reset trigger has a light, crisp pull out of the box thanks to its nickel-coated action components. The Mete SFT features a match-grade 4.46-inch-long barrel, a low-profile ambidextrous slide stop, and 3-dot white sights. The grip features an integral flared-mag-well although the larger Speed flared adaptor which fits over the original mag-well flare is included in the box. As with the standard TP9, the frame is equipped with a 1913 picatinny under-barrel rail. The magazine catch is reversible for left-hand shooters. One major improvement over the optic ready TP9 models is that the rear sight and optic plate are now separate, allowing for the user to co-witness their chosen optic with the pistol’s base iron sights. Another improvement over the TP9 is the internal changes made to the pistol to allow for easier disassembly. These begin with the easy-in-easy-out push pins which can be removed using a little pressure from a punch (see accessories below). Once these are removed, the internal parts are arranged to be modular enough that a complete disassembly and reassembly of the pistol is possible just using the punch. The Mete SFT comes with a very high number of accessories compared to most name brand pistols such as Smith & Wesson, Ruger, Glock, and H&K. The SFT comes with two mounting plates that fit the Trijicon RMRcc and Shield RMS/RMSc micro-optics. Also included as accessories are a spare backstrap for the grip, a reversible IWB/OWB holster, Canik punch and tool kit, cleaning tools, one 20-round and one 18-round magazines, and a magazine loading tool. The advanced Holster Fit-and-Lock (HFL) retention holster allows the SFT to be holstered with a red dot mounted. The tool kit is neatly shaped like a miniature Mete. This pistol is brand new and remains unfired outside of factory testing. As mentioned, the pistol features the special Green Bomber cerakote finish. It is meant to be evocative of famous American bombers of World War 2 such as the North American B-25 Mitchell, Boeing B-17 Flying Fortress, Consolidated B-24 Liberator, and others. The right side of the pistol features stripes, images of rivets, the famous Flying Tigers shark nose (which did appear on some bombers in the 14th Airforce which the Flying Tigers became a part of), and the U.S. Airforce star insignia (Insignia Specification Number AN-1-9a to be specific). The left side features the same stripes, rivets, star insignia, and shark nose, but also features the aircraft code letters A and 6E, a bombing mission tally (in the form of small bombs in two horizontal rows on the slide), and finally an attractive lady to complete the “nose art” nature the Green Bomber conveys.
