This is an excellent example of a Husqvarna M1907. This is essentially a license-built Browning FN Model 1903 semi-automatic pistol. Designed by John Moses Browning himself, the FN 1903 was designed to be a simple blowback pistol that was easy to operate and had few external protrusions which could potentially catch on clothing when being drawn from its holster. It utilized an internal hammer and featured both a grip safety and a slim external safety on the left side. Instead of a magazine release button, it featured a heel mounted release lever. There is a traditional military lanyard ring on the left side of the grip at the bottom. It was originally chambered for the 9x20 Browning Long, a semi-rimmed cartridge, but like most FN 1903s and M1907s, this one has been converted to fire the far more common .380 ACP round. The original ammunition is all but impossible to find. Sweden adopted the pistol as the M.1907 in that year. These were initially built at the FN plant in Belgium. However, World War I intervened and production of the M.1907 switched to Husqvarna in 1917. This pistol was manufactured at Husqvarna. The Swedish crown and the acronym “G.B.” are stamped on the back of the frame. The serial number is stamped on the right side of the frame. A small crown is stamped on the left side of the trigger and on the barrel bushing just below the muzzle. The pistol sports a standard Swedish arsenal refinish. It comes with one magazine which holds 7 rounds (7+1 total for the pistol). There is some minor holster wear. The right-hand grip is chipped, but replacement grips are relatively easy to find. The bore, however, is in mint condition, and these pistols are extremely good shooters (the author owns one, also a .380).
