Colt 1860 Army w/ Ivory Grips Attributed to Outlaw Sam Bass
Description: This is a Colt 1860 Army that, whether the inscription is true or not, has clearly had an interesting life. As can be seen, it is a Civil War issue 3 screw 1860 Army, that at some point made its way into civilian ownership, as most did. The revolver was then fitted with genuine ivory grips, and seemingly engraved to "Sam Bass" of "Graham, Tex". The engraving has worn due to wear, and the minor pitting does affect it, indicating that it was, at the very least, likely done in the period. My theories range from it being Sam Bass's revolver, to it being the product of an unscrupulous gentleman who wanted to take advantage of the news of Sam Bass's activity and untimely demise in the area. Graham, Texas is not too far from Denton, Texas, of which Sam Bass is commonly known to have been living in. While we may never know the truth, it is an interesting revolver nonetheless. The payment methods listed are the only ones that I will accept. Shipping is included in the price, and will be fully insured with signature confirmation.
