Massachusetts Arms Company Wesson & Leavitt Dragoon Revolver
Description: This is a Wesson & Leavitt Dragoon revolver, manufactured by Massachusetts Arms Company in 1850-51, .40 cal. six-shot cylinder. Total production was 800, making these revolvers rare. Barrel, topstrap, and cylinder have brown patina with medium ptting overall, likely from poor storage over the years in Louisiana, where the gun came through an estate.Lock plate and hammer have no pitting. The mechanics are excellent and action is tight. Barrel is 7 1/8 inches long. Markings on lockplate are Good, and on topstrap are less than fully legible due to pitting. Barrel catch is numbered 578. The grips (rounded with no buttcap) are likely a very old replacement but are tight and a perfect fit. Price: $2,195.00 Antique: Yes Handgun Caliber: .40 Contact Seller |
