Liege Percussion Turn-Off Pistol by Taylor of London
Description: NSN, .41 Caliber, 2" barrel with a fair bore that has minor pitting along its length. This is a Liege-made, London-retailed pistol that has an overall pewter gray patina, with some scattered small areas of plum-brown freckling, mainly at the muzzle and on the top and bottom tangs. The rounded steel frame has simple but attractive foliate engraving and maker’s name on the left, "TAYLOR," and "LONDON," opposite. An "E / LG" proof is present on the left side of the frame as well. Some of the original blue-turned-brown still remains on the neck of the hammer. The steeply raked, bag-shaped, walnut grip has a blank oval escutcheon, with minor handling marks and mild flattening to the points. There is a domed buttcap with small trapdoor as well. The action is fully functional. This is a very attractive little pistol, and is in good-very good condition overall. Antique Price: $595.00 Antique: Yes Contact Seller |
