Donut Scroll engraved 5' pocket in a rare contoured coffin case. This Pocket was made in early 1852, (S/N 20415)and exhibits extremely rare gold plated backstrap and trigger guard. There is an example of gold plated TG & BS on page 60 of Colts Book of Engraving Vol I. The 1851 Navy shown was mfd in same time frame. Most likely engraved by Thomas Barlowe as trigger guard has Barlowe's Federal Shield engraved which is believed to be a unique characteristic of his work.
Revolver retains 90% blue on barrel, Muted case colors. Engraving is crisp as is roll engraved cylinder scene. Gold plating is near 100% as would be expected from little used weapon. Grip finish excellent and fit well. Case is fine with one cloth flaw in upper left corner from sight wear.
All accessories are fine as well.
