1811 Date Hudson Bay Pistol

An intriguing Percussion converted pistol with a lock plate dated 1811 and produced for the East India Company with English barrel proofs and the lock screw side has stamped HB for Hudson Bay, so this gun was converted to percussion and most likely sold to Hudson Bay Company during it's life. Measureing about 15 1/2" long with a stout 9" round barrel with a muzzle insode measurement of .64/.65 which means it may have been a .62 caliber smooth bore. The Action works well and this maodel has the cross safety rod that stops the hammer from hitting the nipple. Comes with a captured ram-rod that works well. . The brass furniture has a mellow yellow patina. Barrel held on with a wedge and the hardwood stock is Eurooean in origin. Very interesting historical gun that came around the world for different service. When buying a gun always have it examined by a competent gunsmith before shooting.
