Early-1800s Brit Antique W. KETLAND .65 Caliber FLINTLOCK Pistol Large Bore With Handsome Striped Maple Stock
Description: Early-1800s Brit Antique W. KETLAND .65 Caliber FLINTLOCK Pistol Large Bore With Handsome Striped Maple Stock Here we present an antique W. Ketland Flintlock Pistol, made circa the early 1800s in turn of the century England. Ketland & Co. operated in Birmingham, England, from the late 1700s and to the early 1800s to become one of the most prominent and active British makers of the day. John and Thomas Ketland were the sons of Thomas Ketland and grandsons of William Ketland, who had been making locks and guns for the colonies since the early 18th Century. The lock plate is marked “W. KETLAND” and the barrel is marked “LONDON”. The left side of the barrel is stamped with post-1813 Birmingham proof marks. The barrel, trigger, lock, barrel tang, hammer, frizzen, pan and spring are all iron with brass trim. The overall condition is good. The action partially functions. The hammer requires manual assistance as it does not drop when the trigger is pulled. Some adjustment would likely get this working again. The frizzen spring is a later replacement. Good, smooth bore (aged). Solid stock. Here is a great flintlock pistol from the early 1800s! Own the original! This is a legitimate antique and not a reproduction. Barrel is 8-3/4 inches. Caliber: .65 Flintlock Overall condition as seen in photos. Very Fast. Very Safe. FREE SHIPPING WORLDWIDE. Delivered directly to your door by express mail!
