BENOIT PENET French Antique FLINTLOCK .64 Martial Pistol Engraved & Carved
18th Century from St. Etienne Gunmaker!
Description: BENOIT PENET French Antique FLINTLOCK .64 Martial Pistol Engraved & Carved 18th Century from St. Etienne Gunmaker! Here we present an antique Engraved and Relief Carved Benoit Penel French Flintlock Pistol. Benoit Penel (1724-1812) was a gunmaker and master cutlerer in a multigenerational gunmaking family in St. Etienne, France. His long career stretched over a particularly eventful period in French and world history to include wars and colonization such as the Seven Years’ War, the French & Indian War, the American Revolution (at which time France supplied many arms to the rebels), and the Napoleonic Wars. This pistol is of martial size with an 8 ¼ inch barrel with a .64 caliber smooth bore. It has an iron pommel and nicely carved fancy grain walnut stock with a delicate silver wire inlay at the back of the wrist. Some neat but modest engraving throughout signals that this wasn’t just a tool. The overall condition is very good. The action is excellent. Original flintlock. The bore is smooth and in good shape. The stock is carved and inlayed with silver wire and is solid throughout with the exception of a small, repaired chip at the toe. The lock is clearly marked “Benoit Penel”. Very nice quality! Own the original! This is a legitimate antique and not a reproduction. Barrel is 8-1/4 inches. Caliber: .64 Flintlock Overall condition as seen in photos. Very Fast. Very Safe. FREE SHIPPING WORLDWIDE. Delivered directly to your door by express mail!
