17th century long pirate flintlock pistol
Description: SOLD Very long flintlock early pistol that works well, and the flint gives good sparks. This is a working early pistol used for the belt sash .Overall measuers about 20". These have seen much hard use, and they were NOT A COLLECTIBLE BUT A TOOL. If this fine gun could talk it would hacve many laong stories of adventure. Most likely made in Italy, Spain, or France about 1690 to 1740. Often they had seen extensive use in the Mediterranean Area by Barbery Pirates but many worked their way across the ocean to the Caribbean. Muzzle measures about .62 caliber. . This one has many stories to tell look at the engraved trigger guard with an added peice on the end, most lilely from bashing someone in the face and breaking it, and also the butt cap has a vbreal that had someone solder it as these caps with a stud at the base was used as a skull cracker. The Banana shaped lock has no makers name as usual . Action works well and the barrel length is about 13 1/2" long. Near the breech of the barrel is light engraving. The thin ram-rod is there but has no tip. A very colorful pirate belt flintlock pistol, When buying a gun always have it examined by a competent gunsmith before shooting.
