Merrimack Arms Company "SOUTHERNER" Deringer 41 RF
Antique
Description: Serial #5041, .41 Rim Fire, 2.5 inch octagon barrel with a fine bore with strong rifling and light roughness. This is the "SOUTHERNER" Deringer manufactured by the Merrimack Arms Company in Newburyport, Mass from 1866 to 1869 with an estimated 6500 produced before it became Brown Manufacturing. In very good antique condition the barrel is mostly gray brown with areas of light surface roughness with good markings. The brass frame is a mellow brass with good grips showing an old gouges. It does lock up tight holding at half and full cock and releasing with a crisp trigger pull. A very good example of a Southerner Deringer with the desirable early markings.
