W. Ashton Underhammer Boot Pistol
Description: NSN, .38 Caliber, 3" part octagon barrel with a very good, lightly pitted bore. This pistol has an overall plum-brown patina with a slightly offset “W. ASHTON" stamp on the top flat. The brass grip-frame has a dull, yellow patina, but with a welded repair at the heel, just below the rear sight. The walnut grip panels are in fine condition with only a few minor handling marks in the added oil finish. The exposed trigger and hammer have a dark, blue-gray patina, and the action is functional, but weak. These are interesting and well made pistols; one of the more frequently encountered too.
