"U.S. Model 1855 Pistol carbine with Stock .58 caliber (AH8418)

Description:
"

NSN, circa 1855, .58 caliber, 12 round proofed barrel. Barrel is in the white with scattered oxidation visible, mostly noted around the bolster. Barrel is marked with ""V/P/Eagle"". Tang is dated 1855. Lock plate is marked ""U.S./Springfield"", primer compartment has spread wing Eagle, rear of hammer is marked ""1855"" It is noted that a partial Maynard tape primer is still inside. Stock shows rounding along the edges, partial outline of a cartouche on the left side. An old repair is visible along the wrist right side. Brass butt cap is stamped with the number ""17"". Buttstock is a reproduction and has been aged, action holds at half and full cock.
