With its cannon muzzle, the Model 1850 is a very attractive Prussian cavalry pistol. The overall length is approx. 15.5"". The 8.75"" octagon to round approx. 60 caliber smooth bore barrel has a fair bore with moderate erosion. The barrel and lock are a mix of bight and brown with an overall light brown appearance. The barrel left flat is marked 1851 with a crown proof mark to the rear and crown over B below. The top flat has a crown over FW and the right flat is dated 1852. The barrel has a blade front sight with the block rear sight being on the barrel tang. The lock is marked with a crown over V at the top forward of the hammer and SAARN at the center. The lock features a spring loaded manual nipple protector and safety. The brass furniture are vary good. The stock is very good with sharp edges, light issue wear, and crown over W and a large script FW inspection stamp on the left flat. The action functions correctly. If you like percussion cavalry pistols or early Prussian state pistols, this would be a good addition to your collection.
