Pirate 17th ~18th Century Flintlock Pistol
Description: SOLD A working example of a 17th ~18yh century pirate flintlock pistol with overall length of about 16" with a round barrel of about 9" long. The European walnut stock looks good, but I'm sure with this afge there may have been repairs or possibly restorations in the past.. The mainsrping is very strong, and the furniture is brass. The stocks with wire inlays were usually the older made guns as later guns weren't needing embellishments. The thin sheet brass side plate has seperated but won't fall off. This fine early guns were carried in a sash around the waist and the side plate may have worn with against a well fed pirate. Ram-rod as always may not be functional as when boarding an enemy ship the first shot is fired at the biggest, meanest apponent, and then the butt of the pisto, is used as a skull crusher. Miuzzle of the bore measures ablout .55cal.. Top od the barrel was lightly chisel engraved and now about worn, but the flfintock plate has foliate designs, as are the trigger guard, brass ram-rod ferrule, and the butt-cap.When buying a gun always have it examined by a competent gunsmith before shooting. To buy a gun from me you must get a direct email for me, with details, and shipping cost. We don’t have a web site .I prefer money orders or a check. Item ships when funds come in. I try to keep guns affordable, which means I make less money than most dealers. You won’t get altitude sickness, or nose bleed, with my prices! I consistently have the best selection of older guns If you attempt to buy, you must still contact us for details . Best to email to buy. Sometimes a local person can stop buy and purchase before the gun is removed. Sometimes not home to get calls. Some guns are required shipment to a gun dealer near you for a transfer to you when it arrives. Otherwise many older or black powder guns ship to your door. With the widest selection of older guns at great prices, We don’t have a store, and sell on the internet only. I’m easy to get along with. Thank You SOLD Antique: Yes |
