c1760 ENGLISH Antique SHARPE FLINTLOCK Boot Pistol
Description: c1760 ENGLISH Antique SHARPE FLINTLOCK Boot Pistol Silver Inlaid 18th Century Conceal Carry Gun Here we present an antique Sharpe Flintlock Pistol, made circa 1760 in England. This type of pistol was very popular from the 18th and into the 19th Centuries, in Europe, as well as the colonies. It could be stowed in the top of a boot, the belt, waistband or even a large pocket. It was of course, made primarily for self-defense, and very well would tell stories if it could. Much happened in Britain, in its colonies and abroad during this period. This specimen is marked “SHARPE” and “LONDON” on the frame. Sharpe is known to have made flintlock pistols during the 1760s, especially for officers in the British Navy. The rifled barrel twists off, making loading a much easier task than jamming a ball down the muzzle. This allowed the shooter to use a larger diameter ball, creating a better gas seal for more efficiency from a small gun. The grip is inlaid with silver wire, certainly an upgrade. The underside of the frame is twice proofed “Crown/V”. The overall condition is near fine. The metal is left in the white and is smooth in appearance. The markings are clear and legible. The grip and bore are in fine condition. The action is excellent. Own the original! This is a legitimate antique and not a reproduction. Barrel is 3 inches in length. Caliber: .45 The bore is in fine condition and the firing mechanism is functional. Overall condition as seen in photos. Very Fast. Very Safe. FREE SHIPPING WORLDWIDE. Delivered directly to your door by express mail! Guaranteed AUTHENTIC & Includes CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY. ancestryguns $875 #21783 SOLD Antique: Yes |
