1812 NAPOLEONIC WARS FRENCH Model AN XIII Flintlock MILITARY Pistol Antique Large Single Shot Martial Sidearm for Cavalry
Description: 1812 NAPOLEONIC WARS FRENCH Model AN XIII Flintlock MILITARY Pistol Antique Large Single Shot Martial Sidearm for Cavalry Here we present an antique French Pistolet modèle AN XIII made in 1812. This is the Classic Military Flintlock Pistol that would have been used during the later Napoleonic Wars. This model was manufactured at all four of the French Arsenals, Charleville, Maubeuge, Tulle, and St-Etienne. It was made as a cavalry pistol and continues to survive in its original flintlock state. Over 300,000 of these pistols were made during their 8-year production run. This pistol was designed to equip mounted units, each horseman using two pistols. It was also used by the Navy. An improved version, known as the M1822, was produced after the Napoleonic Wars. Proving that imitation is the greatest form of flattery, the Americans copied the design as the “Harpers Ferry Pistol” and used it against the British in the War of 1812. This pistol is of robust construction with lots of brass for support. The bore is a massive .69 caliber. The overall condition is good. Worn surfaces and patina throughout. The action is strong. The bore is smooth and patinated. The stock is solid though showing use and small, stable splits throughout. There are two cartouches on the left stock flat. Dated 1812 over the breech of the barrel. Own the original! This is a legitimate antique and not a reproduction. Barrel is 8 inches. Caliber: .69 Flintlock Overall condition as seen in photos. Very Fast. Very Safe. FREE SHIPPING WORLDWIDE. Delivered directly to your door by express mail! Guaranteed AUTHENTIC & Includes CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY. ancestryguns $1800 #230720 SOLD Antique: Yes |
