Rare Italian Copy of Volcanic Lever Action Pistol, 1850's-1860's Vintage

Description:
Probably manufactured in the late 1850's or early 1860's, this copy of the Navy size Volcanic lever action pistol is a product of the well known 19th Century Venditti family, located in Lancusi Italy.  It fired a cased bullet of approximately 10mm or .42 caliber, and except for the longer handle, is almost an exact copy of the New Haven Arms Co. Volcanic pistol with a 6 3/4 inch barrel.  It is floral engraved and in excellent mechanical condition with a smooth working action, but the lever return spring and magazine spring are weak.  The overall condition is excellent, with original blue finish on the end of the barrel/loading sleeve and all parts, including the grips, are original to the date of manufacture.  The brass receiver has never been polished and has turned an aged dark patina.  Unlike the New Haven Arms Volvanic, the side plate on this gun are steel.  This gun does not have a serial number, and we do not know how many were made.  Since we can not find any written information, suffice it to say, it is very rare and may be the only one.                                                PRICE:    $8,750             We are Antique & Modern Firearms in Lexington, KY, dealer of fine firearms since 1974.                    PH. 859-276-1419         We Buy, Sell and Trade Firearms & Knives.    Have a Individual Firearm,  Firearms Collection, or Firearms Estate to sell, let us know, we can buy or consignment sell it for you.                   NOTE:  No additional fee for a Credit Card payment.
