Possible Tombstone History: I have a lady’s ornate silver plated Gambler's box with revolver, playing cards, poker chips, bullets, and knife that were recovered from a home in Pima County Arizona. Pima County is just outside the Old West Town of Tombstone Arizona! According to the family their original owner/relative was a woman who would take in travelers on their way to and from Tombstone. Being that most people were common folks with very little money the pistol may have been taken in trade. Another theory is that she may have been a "working" girl and that is why she had the pistol and dagger. It is uncertain why the playing cards and poker chips are with the set, but it may have been just for entertainment . The items found in the small metal box include an E.L. Dickinson (Springfield Ma.) 1870's Ranger No. 2 .32 cal. with original Mother of Pearl grips , a Pearl Handled Dagger, a complete deck of authentic A. Dougherty 1860/70’s Playing Cards and a group of period correct individually engraved Poker Chips/Brothel Tokens. The items were discovered in the metal box and the family placed the Green cloth into the box to display them.. The Revolver is in Excellent Working Condition, Action is Tight. Spur Trigger, Everything Works as it Should. Very nice piece of history.
