Description: RARE U.S. NAVY MARKED Model 1826 by W.L. Evans Antique FLINTLOCK Pistol .54 <1,000 Made in VALLEY FORGE, PENNSYLVANIA! Here we present an antique W.L. Evans Model 1826 Flintlock Pistol, made by W.L. Evans of Valley Forge, Pennsylvania. This pistol is one of less than 1,000 manufactured by Evans in 1830-31. These pistols were identical to the nearly as rare Model 1826 manufactured by Simeon North. The Model 1826 was a specifically Navy sidearm and included both a belt hook mounted to the left stock flat as well as a captive ramrod that functions on a swivel—both key measures to avoid the loss of a vital piece of the gun or the entire gun itself when using to board or repel boarders on a ship. The lock is dated “1831/USN”. “W.L. EVANS/V. FORGE” can be clearly read on the lock. The overall condition is very good. The action is excellent. The bore is smooth and gray. The stock is in very nice shape and solid. This is a rare opportunity to own a US Model 1826 Navy by Evans! Own the original! This is a legitimate antique and not a reproduction.
