Antique SHARPE of LONDON “Extra Sharpe Proof” Flintlock TRADE Belt Pistol
Early-1800s British Export with Birmingham Proofs
Description: Antique SHARPE of LONDON “Extra Sharpe Proof” Flintlock TRADE Belt Pistol Early-1800s British Export with Birmingham Proofs Here we present an antique Sharpe Flintlock Trade Pistol, made circa the early 1800s in Birmingham, England. This London Gun maker "SHARPE" was in business from around 1800 until 1840. He initially contracted with the Hudson Bay Company to supply these good quality Flintlock pistols that were traded to the Indigenous Indians in exchange for fur pelts that were eagerly desired in the European Fashion Trade. The Hudson Bay company was founded in May of 1670 primarily serving in the fur trading industry in its early years and has continued for 350 years to present day in London, England. This pistol was designed to make massive holes in things. This pistol would have been a horse carried pistol or perhaps even worn on a belt. The lock reads “SHARPE”. Atop the barrel “EXTRA/SHARPE/PROOF” is stamped. The action is strong. The bore is in fair condition. The stock is solid and remains in great shape. This example would be a great supplemental display piece in the collection! Own the original! This is a legitimate antique and not a reproduction. Barrel is 9-1/8 inches. Caliber: .56 Flintlock Overall condition as seen in photos. Very Fast. Very Safe. FREE SHIPPING WORLDWIDE. Delivered directly to your door by express mail! Guaranteed AUTHENTIC & Includes CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY. ancestryguns $1600 #226126 SOLD Antique: Yes |
