Synopsis: SIG P49, Swiss Military Transitional Pistol, Holster, A114536, FB01044 Description: Relatively Scarce Swiss Military P49 Transitional Pistol, 9mmP, found in a narrow serial range from A109711-A120500, this example complete with correctly dated holster and strap. This single action pistol has a 4.75” barrel, drift adjustable front and rear sight, and flat, checkered slide release. The left side of the slide and frame are proofed and marked with the full serial number that is repeated on the right side of the barrel hood. Safety detentes are marked with an “S” in white and “F” in red. “P” release marked on front of the trigger guard and discretely applied import marking on base of frame. Disassembly shows a matching hammer assembly with the usual half cock. Fitted with checkered black plastic grips, separate escutcheons, secured with a single transfer screw. Fixed lanyard ring. Complete with an early, high polish magazine. Leather military holster, dated “53”, strap dated “53”. Condition: VG-EXC original condition with minimal sharp edge wear and very minor speckling as befitting a service pistol that has seen light use. Crisp grips. Bright bore. Perfect manual mechanics. VG tan holster and strap with intact stitching, ownership markings having been removed from the inner flap. A scarce and all matching military P49, with the desirable transitional features that only appeared in a narrow serial range, complete with correctly dated military holster and matching shoulder strap.
