Synopsis: Original Astra M400 (1921), WWII German Contract Pistol, 94784, FB01208 Description: A fine example of an Astra 400 (M1921) issued to the Nazi German Army, 1 of 6000 pistols in serial range 92,851-98,850 in 1941. Standard configuration Model 400 with Astra U/C logo on forward slide. Rear of slide marked with manufacturer address, caliber, and model. Proofing code “M” (1941) on left tang in association with the Eibar and automatic pistol proof, the latter repeated on the left side of slide and the exposed barrel hood that is additionally marked with the caliber. Matching serial numbers on slide, barrel and frame. Fitted with coarsely checkered walnut panels. Original Astra E/U logoed magazine. Condition: VG+ original finish with holster wear and thinning in usual areas for a pistol that has seen moderate field use. Brightly polished small parts with commensurate discoloration that equally applies to the faded fire-blue of the grip screws. Grips with generally sharp checkering, a few scattered losses as photographed. Bright bore with sharp rifling. Perfect manual mechanics.
