Synopsis: Mauser P38, BYF 42, First Year Production, German Military Pistol, 1643a, FB01249 Description: High original condition Mauser manufactured P38, coded byf, made in 1942, with correct Mauser accepted magazine. Cal 9mmP. Standard configuration early Mauser P38 with “dusty blue” finish, with 5 inch barrel having drift adjustable front sight and U notched rear sight. Slide marked P.38 followed by “byf/42” and serial number. Usual safety markings. Right side of slide with inspection markings. All matching with full serial number on frame, slide, barrel and last 3 digits on locking block. Fitted with brown phenolic grips and “P.38” magazine with Eagle/135 acceptance. Condition: VG/EXC original finish with sharp edge in usual places. Slight thinning of frontstrap. Comparable condition grips and magazine. Bright bore with sharp rifling. Correct manual mechanics.
