Late War Remington Rand 1911A1 as issued to U.S. military in 1943. Complete with Standard issue M3 Shoulder Holster.
Description:
Standard configuration Remington Rand M1911A1 with ramp front sight and drift adjustable rear sight having square notch. Left side of slide with usual two line Remington Rand address. “P” in front of rear sight. “FJA” Frank J Atwood inspector initials on left side & crossed cannons proofs on right side that break the parkerized finish. Right side of frame marked with SN, “UNITED STATES PROPERTY”, “M1911A1 U.S.ARMY”. All components parkerized except for salt blue trigger, slide release, thumb safety, hammer, and a few pins. Barrel lug marked “F” on right side by High Standard, ‘P’ on opposing side. Keyes Fibre grips with escutcheon rings around screws. Late seven round magazine with “L” on inner toe. Complete with original standard issue M3 shoulder holster. Marked on obverse surface with "U.S." over barely discernible manufacturer. No date is visible. Straps present.
Condition:
VG+ original finish with sharp edge wear and slight thinning as one might expect from a carried service pistol. Usual scratch below slide release. Comparable condition grips. Bright bore with minor etching. Perfect manual mechanics. G/VG Shoulder holster with oil staining and strap crazing as imaged. An attractive Remington Rand 1911A1, made 1943, with just enough wear to make the occasional appearance at the range!
