The U.S. military procured around 2.7 million M1911 and M1911A1 pistols during its service life. The pistol served as the standard-issue sidearm for the United States Armed Forces from 1911 to 1985. It was manufactured by Remington Rand in 1943. It is marked United States Property, ser #1028806. The bore is good with some light pitting or frosted appearance. Correct High Standard barrel marked "HS" on the right of the lug and "P" on the left. Du-Lite finished slide and parkerized frame; appears to have been assembled this way during transitional period.
