Description: For sale we have an early Colt Commercial semi-auto 1911-A1 Government pistol in .45 ACP. This pistol has been completely engraved with nickel finish by Mahan Custom Firearms of Panama, OK, and features fine scrollwork and punch dot engraving on both side of gun, as well as on the thumb safety, underside of frame and triggerguard, and top of slide. Gun is in excellent condition as refinished, and comes in a custom presentation case. We believe this is a 1937 manufactured gun, as the only remaining slide markings are pre-1949, and although the serial number has been refinished/restamped, we believe the original Colt serial number was C 186636, which would date the gun to 1937.
