DAN WESSON 44V MAGNUM
Description: SOLD I purchased this revolver new in 1982 to get into silhouette shooting. My main problem was I didn't think it through. It takes a lot of practice, and the nearest place to shoot silhouettes was 200 miles away. That did not work out well with my schedule. The revolver has been residing in my gun room for 40 years. It is one of the strongest and most accurate .44 magnums ever made. The accuracy comes in part from the barrel being anchored at both ends and the excellent adjustable trigger. This is an 8-inch vent rib model, which, in my opinion, gives you added velocity without being overly cumbersome. The shroud is ported, but I do not have a ported barrel installed because there were reports of problems with gas and debris getting inside the shrouds. So I opted for a solid barrel. This is a big revolver. It weighs 58 ounces and is 14 inches long. The weight helps control recoil, as do the very well-designed stocks. If you are looking for a great 44 Magnum for hunting or long-range shooting, this is the one for you. I also have a Picatinny rail that mounts to the vent rib if you wish to mount a scope or optical sight.
