COLT COMMANDER .38 SUPER AUTO, made circa 1971.  This colt has been customized to include

• Ed Brown grip safety, Bobtail, and hammer
• Briley ramped stainless steel match barrel and spherical bushing
• Full length two piece guide rod
• Dawson Precision Sights
• Cylinder and Slide SFS safety (see SFS explanation)
• Moly Coat frame and blued slide

SFS EXPLANATION:
FN pioneered this safety system in the 1990’s as I have this on a FN HiPower that came from the factory with this safety.  I found it very useful and liked it so much that I had it installed on this Commander.

WHAT IT DOES AND HOW YOU ENGAGE:
To engage the safety the hammer is pressed forward and the safety engages.  Engaging the safety in this manner locks the hammer, slide, and trigger and the only way to unlock the pistol is to press the thumb safety to fire position.  Once the safety is disengaged the hammer springs back to full cock ready to fire.  The safety allows you to carry in condition 1, however, the hammer is forward to half cock or hammer safe position instead of full cock.
