The SIg P229 DAK (Double Action Kellerman) is the standard duty pistol for no less than the U.S. Coast Guard, and carried by numerous federal agencies and law enforcement agencies across the country including The Secret Service guarding the President of The United States.
It has the Double Action Kellerman, or DAK system trigger that when pulled, the company’s specs advise that you get a full-time and constant trigger squeeze and two reset points, one short, and one full-length. This allows the shooter to grow accustomed to the same 6.5-pound trigger squeeze each time.
Left side of frame serrated take-down lever. Lower left side of frame serrated magazine release button. Front and rear fixed Trijicon H3-16 Tritium night sights. Can furnish with new 9mm barrel having threaded suppressor for additional $200.00.
As for safeties, there are internal mechanisms which guarantee the safety of the pistol. SIG calls this its safety system:
1-Firing pin block. The firing pin cannot move forward if the trigger is not being pressed. This is also called "Drop Safety"
2-Intercept notch. The reason the hammer is not touching the firing ping when it is down, if the trigger is not pressed the hammer cannot move all the way forward.
3-Trigger bar disconnect. While the slide is cycling, the trigger bar is disconnected from the sear to avoid an out-of-battery discharge.
Features DA action with a smooth pull of 6.5 pounds.
Recessed no-snag hammer is out of the way yet visable.
