SCARCE HARRINGTON & RICHARDSON TINY .25 ACP VEST POCKET AUTO PISTOL WITH HOLSTER, #7XXX, ONLY MADE 1912-1916. Only 16,630 of these 2" barrel auto pistols were made. They were actually designed by Webley & Scott in England and licensed to H&R to manufacture and sell them on the American Market. At the time, the only major U.S. made auto pistols were Colt, Savage and S&W (strange .35 caliber and design that was never popular) with only Colt offering a small .25 ACP. This excellent example shows about all the bright blue with only some small corrosion on the left rear of the slide in the serations and just below on the frame (minor). Even the safety retains the fire blue. Correct nickel plated magazine and trigger guard. Exc. grips, still some good case color on the trigger, exc. markings, mech. and bore. Safety functions correctly. The holster is particularly intriguing as these little autos were rarely put any place aside from a pocket or purse. The holster is made of black leather and has a flap with button latch and belt loop on the reverse. It was obviously made for this pistol and fits perfectly. While it shows age and some use, it is in excellent condition. A neat little 110 year old set made before we got involved in World War I!
