****SOLD**** Here we have a very unique retro cool single action Sheridan Knocabout semi auto pistol in .22 long rifle caliber. Sheridan made the guns from 1953 to 1960 and they made about 10,000 or so. The Knocabout falls into the catagory of a simple, reliable single shot trail or tacklebox gun. at the time, camping, hiking, hunting and a general “outdoors” life was encouraged and the boon in trailers and campers had begun in earnest. While many campers weren’t really gun people, they still knew a handy .22 might be a good thing when fishing, hiking the trails, plinking or even taking small game, so the “Knocabout” (Sheridan’s spelling) was cheap, of good quality and actually worked great. This particular example is in very good overall condition exhibiting light handling marks and high edge wear. All mechanics work as they should. The safety lifts the hammer away from the firing pin preventing it from being striked. The grips panels are excellent. This is just a very cool retro piece that harkens back to simpler times.
